Uniform Closet

Greetings from the Uniform Closet!

I would like to introduce myself and welcome you back to school. My name is Sandra Ritter. I am the chair of the Uniform Closet. I have 2 children at Holy Cross. Emily is in 8th grade and Kaleb is in 5th grade. I have been volunteering for 4 years and chair for 3 years.

First of all, I would like to make sure everyone knows that the uniform closet is available for all. It is designed to recycle gently used items for use by others when your child has outgrown them. My committee and I try to keep the closet organized so it is easily accessible for all. Except for the polo shirts, all items are labeled with their size. The clothes are then organized by size and color. I hope this will make it easier for you to find what you are looking for in a timely manner.

Please keep the closet as neat (or neater) as you found it so the parent or teacher who comes after you can also find what they are looking for as easily.

Finally, I would like to thank you for all the donations so far. There is a white laundry hamper for donations when you drop off items.

Below are a few tips on what should and should NOT be donated...

1.  If the clothing is not included in the School Uniform Code, please do not donate it. The School Uniform Code is in the handbook and there is also a copy of the School Uniform Code on the inside of the Uniform Closet door. We do not have room for all the shirts from sports events, crusaders memorabilia, church events, musicals, etc. These items needs to be donated to another charity or Holy Cross family directly.

2.  If the clothes are stained, frayed or has holes, please do not donate these. They will be thrown away.
**The one exception is worn knees on pants. If the knees are worn, but not frayed or has holes, go ahead and donate it.

Thank you and have a great year!
